When is it time to get a gutter estimate?
How do you know when it’s time to call in the professionals and inquire about getting new gutters installed in your home? Home guttering systems made out of aluminum will usually last for about two decades. Not sure when your gutters were installed? Please don’t leave it up to chance. There are plenty of telltale signs to look out for. If you notice any of the following, it’s time to call for a gutter estimate.
5 Signs It’s Time For A New Gutter:
1. Gutters are no longer attached to the roof
While you can sometimes hammer the fasteners back in place, if your gutters are continually pulling away from the roof, the fascia boards may be rotting. New gutters will fix the fascia issue while giving your home brand new, fully functional gutters.
2. Water in your home
Do you have flooding in the basement, or wet patches in your attic, walls, or roof? Rain and melting ice and snow can constantly seep into your foundation if it’s not irrigated property. If you notice water creeping into your home, it may be time to look into replacing your gutters.
3. Corrosion on the gutters
Cracks, rust spots, and even holes in your gutter will likely occur naturally over time. If you see more than half a dozen sections with damage, you may want to opt for a new irrigation system in your home.
4. Peeling paint
If your gutters are coated with paint, and it begins to peel, this is a bigger issue than just an eyesore. It can indicate moisture damage in the gutters.
5. Pooling water
If, after a rainstorm, you see water spilling over the gutters, it may be time to consider a replacement. You may also notice dirt channels or pools of water on the ground.
